Combretum Trust School is run by Combretum Educational Trust. This is a non-profit, non-government organisation dedicated to identifying, and looking for ways of addressing, problems in education in Namibia. The school is innovative and responsive and was established to give hands on experience of problems experienced with secondary teaching in Namibian schools. This experience is then used as a basis to evaluate the ways in which government and private sector can collaborate to improve the educational outcomes of motivated young Namibians.
WHEN DID IT START?
Combretum Trust School started in 2004 with grades 8 & 9. All secondary grades including grade 12 Higher Level were in place by 2007.
WHY DID IT START?
To address the need for improvement within education, in small classes and in a culturally appropriate environment for independent Namibia.
This involves promoting pride in the culture of birth whilst also preparing young people to function on a global stage with confidence and competence
CURRICULUM & GRADES
We have exemption from the Junior Secondary Examination, and prepare learners for both Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE certificates and for Namibian NSSCO and NSSCH.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Individuals, their strengths, challenges, opportunities and motivations.
Education is about teaching people to learn, learning is a lifelong process. Everyone has talent. The secret to success lies in identifying and developing those talents.
